Real People -- Real lives -- Real God
STAND Christian Fellowship had its first service on Easter 2013 in Pastor Tay & Shyra's garage. That Easter Sunday was definitely symbolic of the resurrection of their calls into ministry. STAND also held its first baptism on that Sunday... in a blow up pool in the front yard. It was awesome!
Church services were held in the Harris home from 2013 until 2016, when they transitioned to Rancho Cucamonga High School until the Pandemic hit in 2020. Although COVID was real, requiring us to socially distance, STAND CF continued to meet virtually.
Now that things are more stable, and safety can be managed, Pastor Tay & Shy are excited to be able to open their home for in-person services. Please reach out to us for the address (standcf1@gmail.com). We would love for you to join us!
STAND CF has a vision to build a community of people who can be real about their struggles and know that they are not alone. A community that cares about each other and seeks ways to support rather than judge. A community where love truly is the driving force. A community that represents Jesus, His love, and His grace.
Pastor Tay was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland, and moved to California, with is family, when he was 19 yrs old. At that time, no one would have thought of him as "Pastor material," given he has dropped out of high school, flirted with addiction, and was a convicted felon. But God had different plans!
Through his cousin, Pastor Tay & Shy meet at just 21 yrs old, got married at 22, and had their amazing son, Pastor Rob. Life has had it's challenges, all of which are a part of their testimony. But Pastor Tay & Shy believe that it is "by the blood of the lamb, and the word of our testimonies" that all men will be saved.
Pastor Tay was ordained and called to start STAND CF in 2013, with the support of his wife, his son, and a small but amazing group of friends and family. He also works as a full time clinical social worker at CSUSB.
Pastor Shy was born in California but spent a good portion of her childhood splitting time between California, with her mother, and Michigan, with her father. Unlike Pastor Tay, she was a "church kid" from Day One, teaching bible studies in the 3rd grade, singing on the choir, and knowing she had a call on her life. But, even "church kids" struggle, and Pastor Shy was no exception. It was in her greatest struggle that she met Pastor Tay. And the rest, they say, is history!
Pastor Shy has a passion for the marginalized, and the “church hurt”… especially those who others have “thrown away.” Like Pastor Tay, Shyra believes that it is through her own transparency, and refusal to “put on airs,” that people will feel safe coming to church again.
Pastor Shy is also a licensed clinical social worker, working as a full time faculty with CSUSB.
We believe, wholeheartedly, that we have been called, by God, to seek out & deliver a message to those who have been "Church Hurt." God wants each person to know that it was man-made rules and religion that wounded them... not Him. We have been called to reach both the "churched" and "unchurched" with the message of God's grace .... uncompromising, undeserved, & absolutely endless.
STAND Christian Fellowship is on a mission to Reverse Hurt – Engage Relationships – and Pursue Purpose, in a REAL way.
Real People – Real Lives – Real God.
God wants everyone to know that He loves and desires a relationship with them, regardless of who they are or what they've done (or will do). He has the power to love us into right standing with Him, through GRACE.
“And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. “ Romans 8:38-39 (NLT)
